Wayne Exterior Repair & Repaint – 4 Color Paint Combo!

exterior repair and repaint on this beautiful house

Our company did an exterior repair and repaint project in Wayne on a home that had once been an old barn. It was added on to and converted into a very cool house. Keep reading for more info on this fun project…

When Taylor Painting and Carpentry arrived on-site the property needed some TLC. The stucco required some repairs and there were several areas where the wood was rotting.

We started by applying a liquid detergent to the house and power washing the surfaces clean from dirt, mold, and mildew. At the same time, we also found and noted all areas in need of repair.

Using a mechanical lift where needed, we made stucco repairs, replaced some cedar siding, rebuilt the front steps and railing, and replaced various rotting trim pieces on all sides of the house using composite materials such as AZEK and Trexx wherever possible. When traditional wood had to be used, we primed the backs and sawed edges prior to installing to add further protection from future wood rot.

All stucco repairs we then primed with masonry sealer, and composite and wood repairs were primed with acrylic latex paint. We finished the house with two coats of acrylic latex paint in a brilliant 3 color combination chosen by the owners. The fence was also stained, making this a four-color paint project.

It was already an interesting job due to the style of the home with the various textures, plus porches, balconies, and decks. But the colors chosen by the owners and the before and after photos showing the transformation from the cream color with black accents to the dark gray with red and white accents really draws the eye and adds a ton of curb appeal to this charming Wayne property.

For anyone interested in using any of these great colors on your own exterior painting project or interior painting project, the body of the home was done in Sherwin Williams’ “Outerspace” in a satin finish; the crisp trim was done in Sherwin Williams’ “Togue White” in a gloss finish; the contrasting entry doors were done in Sherwin Williams’ “Real Red” in a semi-gloss finish, and the fence was done using Sherwin Williams’ “Covered Bridge” semi-transparent stain.
