Upgrade Your Patio with Concrete Staining

Have you been spending more time outdoors? Are you trying to find a way to spiff up your patio or pool deck? You’ve added outdoor decorations, you’ve power washed under every nook and cranny, what else can you do? We wanted to explore the idea of using concrete staining to give the surrounding area a new look! We’ll cover what concrete staining is and some of the benefits that are included.

Concrete staining is applied to washed concrete and will engulf the top layer, almost like a protective shield. Many consumers, from homeowners to businesses, are staining their concrete to improve the appeal and surprise guests. Essentially, the chemicals in the staining product will bond with the material found in the concrete surface, resulting in a new surface layer! There are two types of staining methods to choose from, including clear sealer or colored stains.

Clear sealer is a basic option that provides a glossy reflection on the surface while keeping the original color underneath. Sealer can even protect concrete from external damage. On the other hand, colored stains are given a different shade which can dramatically affect the look of the concrete after it’s applied. Both products are made out of similar materials, but the final decision depends on how you want the concrete to look. Would you prefer to see the original color after the project is all said and done, or would you enjoy adding some new flare?

No matter what option you choose, it’ll be sure to radiate a new image. Not only does staining provide a visual enhancement, as mentioned earlier, sealings can protect the concrete from potential damage, increasing the quality of life before fixes are needed. Over time, cracks and other problems can form due to extreme weight or moisture problems, but sealer will give it another chance!
